A gender reveal party at a house in England got "out of control" after over 200 guests turned up, despite a group of eight initially booking the property, according to reports.

On Wednesday, June 25, police were called to the luxury five-bedroom vacation rental in the village of Norden, Greater Manchester after neighbors complained about the noise, per The Times.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the property, called Falcon House, is located on a quiet street and can be rented for between £350 (around $475) and £750 (approximately $1,018) per day. The home features a pool table, a hot tub, and a bar.

Amid complaints, police attended the location in riot vans, The Times reported. The outlet stated that over £2000 (around $2,700) worth of damage was done to the property, including holes ripped in the cloth of the pool table, smashed bedside lamps, and more.

Greater Manchester Police told PEOPLE in an email, "We did attend at about 9.30 p.m. [local time] to reports that there were 30 people at the house and enforced a 12-hour dispersal order. All ended by midnight – no arrests."

The vacation home had been booked by a group of eight via Instagram for a gender reveal party, The Times noted, citing Matt Genesis, 33, the director of Fairway Building & Remedial Contractors, which is the company that owns the property.

Genesis said that he'd turned up to the property at around 9:30 p.m. local time on the evening of the party after finding out that the external security system had been deliberately disconnected when he tried to log in, The Times stated.

Genesis claimed that some of the guests, who were mostly in their twenties, had parked over residents' driveways while trying to get in to the property, which had recently undergone a £200,000 (around $271,600) renovation.

“Whilst we were there, minibus after minibus was turning up — I’d say one every 15 minutes, a minibus full of six to eight people walking in,” he recalled, per the outlet.

“It was out of control — police turned up. We called them, obviously [neighbors] had called them. It was out of our control," Genesis added, according to The Times. “Even the guy who booked it, it was out of his control on his behalf — he said he didn’t expect anywhere near the amount of people, but it’s been passed around group and groups.”

“It hit us: we seem like the bad guys, but at the same time it did ultimately hit us as well in the pocket. Guests had [traveled] from as far as London for it, so it was very, very calculated,” Genesis went on, per The Times.

One of the owners of the property said that he and his co-owner had arrived at the home after receiving "concerned messages" from neighbors about loud music at around 7 p.m, according to the BBC.

Once at the home, they discovered a live DJ was playing and "huge speakers" had been set up, per the outlet.

He said, "We tried our best to shut the party down but our efforts failed due to the sheer amount of people at the house and people continuing to arrive," the BBC reported.

The co-owner said that the party, which was thought to have been advertised via social media, was "completely against our house rules" and "not what our [house] was set up for," the BBC stated.

"We were lied to and were victims ourselves and received around £2,000 worth of damages to our home carpets and furniture," he said, insisting that measures were being put in place to avoid similar incidents happening in the future, per the outlet.
